Seeking Part Time Nanny:
Fluent Spanish speakers highly encouraged to apply. We are a fire fighter family in the Sunset District seeking a caretaker for an infant. This is a part time position, 7-10 days per month. Due to the nature of an irregular fire department schedule, days will change from week to week. Though, we can let you know what days are needed a month in advance. We are particularly looking for a caretaker who is a mom and who would also like to bring her infant with her. This would work well for a grad student who may not necessarily be in the classroom at particular times but is still accomplishing course work or intern hours. Job opening: part-time after-school aide/recreation assistant for a 5th-grade boy with Down syndrome in East Bay
We are seeking a friendly, reliable person who has a genuine interest in disability and inclusive education to act as an aide to an 11-year old boy with Down syndrome at a UC Village after-school program in Albany (near Berkeley). Zachary is an enthusiastic, kind, and hard-working boy with a sturdy sense of humor. He is fully included in a general education classroom during the school day. This fall, he will be attending a new aftercare program at UC Village (affiliated with UC Berkeley), a project-based S.T.E.A.M.S. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math and Service) enrichment program that is primarily aimed at serving typically developing K to 5th graders. Zachary is a eager to learn: he primarily needs an aide to help him to gain confidence within the program’s structure and negotiate transitions, novel situations, and learning challenges.
Position begins August 28.
Hours are M-F 3-6:30. (Hours are somewhat flexible, e.g. a M/W/F or T/H schedule is possible to accommodate students’ class schedules)
$14-16/hour, depending on experience (Zachary’s aide is provided through a local social service agency)
